These great guys get together for regular mid-week runs and lunches. They usually start around Windsor and head up to the Hunter via the Putty Rd. I’ve driven with them a few times and our usual destinations in the Hunter have been Audrey Wilkinson winery or Hunter Valley Gardens. For this run they came up to Nicita Estate for an indulgent lunch of freshly hand rolled pasta made by Our Italian Table. All drivers vowed to come back next time with their wives – especially after they sent photos and videos!

A beautiful selection of Italian exotics including Ferrari, Maserati and of course the diminutive Abarth. Along with a McLaren and a few Germans.

The Eastern Valley Car Club (EVCC) is a lovely group of people with an eclectic mix of beautiful cars. I have been on many a drive with them around Sydney as well as weekends away a little further afield.

Cars that can often be seen on their drives include many Aston Martins (including DB4, DB5 and DB6!), Austin Healeys, Jaguars, Morgans, Porsche, Ferrari, Maserati, Lotus and Jensen to name a few.

This week the club enjoyed a lovely drive up from Sydney via Wollombi and Laguna.

Their beautiful cars were parked up against the vines with the dramatic backdrop of the Brokenback Mountains.

Our guests enjoyed a tour of the Classic Garages workshop and a relaxed lunch was setup on the lower lawn with antipasto lunch boxes from Our Italian Table.

A beautiful day was had for the 2020 Club Maserati Concourse at Nicita Estate. This event was originally scheduled last month but the storms that wreaked havoc in the area forced us to postpone the event and we were very luck wth the weather.

While some of the classics were unable to make it on the day or were unable to re-book for the new date we still had an excellent turn out of around 40 cars and 70 or so guests.

The cars were parked in line along the top lawn backing onto the vines. A merchandise tent and coffee cart were setup and lunch was picnic style with antipasto lunch boxes from Our Italian Table – our cooking school located on the vineyard.

The 2021 Concourse has already been booked in for September ’21.

I am delighted to say that we have arranged a fantastic Hunter valley destination for our November run! We are finally able to take up the very kind invitation from one of our own – Jen and Vince Nicita – to go to their lovely property and business, the Nicita Estate in Pokolbin.

As you will see from their website, it is a truly gorgeous destination!

As Jen is already booked to run a pasta cooking school that day, we will be served with sumptuous antipasto boxes and a bottle of water for lunch, at a cost of $25 each. Please feel free to bring along some wine, or even drop into the winery next door for a fresh bottle.

Because our regular departure point is currently a building site, we will be meeting at Calibrate Café in Lord St, Roseville, where car parking is [...]
